INDONESIAN HUMAN HISTORY
Stories of Indonesian human history

Welcome!
I've spent 30 years exploring the eastern islands of Indonesia - pursuing the archaeology of hobbits, exploring sea-farers who first filled these islands (70,000 years ago), climbing volcanoes and experiencing the amazing diversity of local cultures. Read more of my story here - I hope it inspires you to do the same.

I've started this website for a few reasons:
-
To share the citizen science myself and friends are undertaking in the region. Come and join us on this adventure.
-
To encourage archaeology tourism - you will have a fantastic time exploring human history in the islands.
-
To provide a discussion forum for interested amateurs to come together
I've had the great pleasure of meeting many of the key scientists working on the hobbit and human migration stories. Get some hints about how to do this yourself.
And of course I've met and stayed with so many wonderful local people over the years, read some of these encounters here (including locals wielding machetes - of course).
